Africa Fashion Week is a luxury multi-day event in Lower Manhattan includes a series of runway shows, vendor exhibition, and industry networking events with the sole purpose of raising awareness of African Fashion/Entertainment professionals all over the world. The Snob Effect Team was front and center to witness once again this years show was a complete mix of both modern and traditional  African influenced designs. The Menswear this year was definitely a highlight of the show tailored suits, modern cuts, and contrasting colors. The accessories was a splash of bold tones, chunky necklaces and bracelets, and beautiful detailed structured clutches in traditional Kente fabric by Designer Ama Sika of Ani Siya.

Korto Momolu absolutely stole the show as a fan and fellow designer I have had the opportunity to watch her evolve into something incredible. Her rich deep colors, silk draped fabric and sheer gowns had the Snob Effect Team asking where and how much??

Designer Allex Kangala menswear designer did a very nice union of classic and the modern man suit. By mixing pastels with pinstripes or mixes of color blocking and even using some less traditional fabrics for men. Though the fit was a bit snug than we would prefer we were pleasantly pleased!

Below are some of the show highlights
